To shorten a story that I could stretch out to epic length. I got my '69 MGBGT running Friday night. She ran beautifully, but had a couple of details that needed to be fixed. I fixed them, drove her

I have the hanging adapter in my '69 B. It's a PITA to get at and it still makes a mess. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd swap it out for the inverted one or put the cannister type back on. Cheers, CR /// or

You can reduce (not eliminate) the mess with the "on top" adapter if you use a filter such as the 3517857-3 filter available from all Volvo dealers to fit Volvos from 1962 and later. This filter has

David, I can only imagine that there is an implied simplicity but I never found the cartridge filters in my e-type to be any more hassle than the screw-on cans. My BMW M3 uses a cartridge and it is

The element filters have no check valve in them. Everytime the engine shuts down the oil drains back to the oil pan. The good spin on filters have a check valve and the oil stays in the filter. When

My e-type's filter hung down so it stayed filled with oil via gravity. The stand pipe or non-return valve is, however an important issue. Some argue that it is unimportant. My 308 uses a high pressur
