Gerry, I think the MG factory did that very succesfully! After '64 all MK1 (if you want to call them so) MGB were fitted with a 5 main bearing engine (18 GB onwards). The four synchro box only came

In regards to teh 3-main tranney and 5 main engine. No sweat. Epoxy or other wise stabilize a 3-main bushing into a 5-main bush; then install the five-main bush into the crank. Several of the mail or

OPPS! The other thing you may have to do in this transmission exchange is to change the back plate, flywheel and starter. Take a look at the tranney years and the starter you are planning on using. H
