Bud: To get the distributor drive out you have to remove the plate that retains dizzy. It is held in place by that one screw on the left. Then the dizzzy gear rotates out. It contacts the cam and you

the cam without first removing the dist. gear drive. .... Actually you can. Just rotate the cam so the #4 intake cam lobe clears the dizzy drive gear and you can remove the cam. Barney Gaylord 1958 M

Hi Barney, Actually, it was quite easy after I discovered the screw that retained the distributor mounting housing among the layer of crud. With the housing removed, the drive just slipped right out.
