I'm not aware that there *is* a footswitch for the highbeam dimmer in early Spits. I certainly haven't found any in the ones I've scrapped so far, but that might be just dumb luck. -- ** * * * Flinth

Yep! The US versions have (had) them. Huxley (the Red Mk1) does and Tiny Tim (the black Race Car Mk1) had his surgically removed. I still have it if you want to make me an offer I can't refuse! Joe /

The American spec Spitfires, and Heralds, natch' will have the foot dipper switch, to conform to US standards of the day. The main lighting switch is the stalk on the column, and the instrument light

To clarify my comment- The sistered wire goes to the high beam indicator- it is paired rather than sisteres- they are both blue and red, I think, with blue/white going to low beams. If memory serves.
