The only con I am aware of is every rotten wire I have seen at Bonneville the worst ones have always been ground wires. The corrosion runs right up under the insulation for the length of the wire. So

Sparky, I don't believe it matters a bit function wise. Failure wise on the other hand I do believe matters if running straight from the battery(just like a main breaker). Concerning the wire connect

Mine is on the ground side. The my reason is that there is less sparking when the contact is made. So far it works fine and there is no corrosion that I can find. Skip

Another safety matter concerning this(along the lines of my orginal post) would be that once the switch is thrown, the emergency crew could inadvertently let the battery get grounded during a rescue(

Redundency isn't a bad thing...... I have a "standard" kill switch on the right rear of the car, but I also have a kill switch inside the car. On top of all that, the fuel pump and the ignition also
