Just guessing, but if it took anything like what MG did to fit the 3000cc 6 cyl. in the MGC, you are talking significant suspension and interior sheet metal modifications. Too detailed to list here,

Actually, what Triumph did was push the radiator forward on the GT6.. the 6 cylinder is about a foot longer than the stock Spit 4. So imagine trying to fit a lump of cast iron 12 inches longer into
