Think it's about 6 1/4. But be careful. Many car stereos now have all the wires in a molded plug that fits in to the back of the unit, adding another 1/2 to 3/4. I found an older Radio Shack Optimus

If the unit has a cassette player and you bump it out 3/4 of an inch, you may not be able to get cassettes in and out because of how close it is to the shifter. Just something to think about, I know

To change the tapes in my cassette player, I have to stop the car and put the shifter into reverse in order to be able to get the tapes in and out. Needless to say, I don't play many tapes in the Mid

That's why I put a CD changer in the trunk! I could change CDs in the in-dash unit, but same as y'all with the cassettes, I could only do it in 2nd or 4th , or reverse, as the case may be. Greg Gowin
