- Not only that, but the (originally Triumph) 1500 has only 2 main bearings and no cam bearings (hard to believe, eh? what were they thinking?), so is not at all recommended for serious tweaking. Chea

- Which MGB? A properly built 1275 should smoke a late RB B. Don't forget that the Spridget weighs less than the B. Flame suit on Rick Ewald

- Last time I looked the 1500 had 3 main bearings. As to the cam, it actually has 4 bearing surfaces as opposed to the "A" series which only had 3. The lack of cam bearings generally didn't pose a prob

- There is a current MG racing series here. It has been running for years and In it there are 3 classes of car full race, historic, and fast road. There are a couple of TC/TD's, A's, 4 cylinder and V8

- Max and others, It doesn't take much to make an A series motor go *much* faster. As delivered by BMC, you could easily believe the performance was deliberately held back so as not to embarrass the B.
