Fellow listers, I need to outfit my Healey with new tires. I'm currently running 165s and thinking about going to 185s. I've got 5.5 72 spoke Daytons if that matters. My current tire is the Michellin

Carlos: I like the Michelin 175R15 (presently unavailable, but I'll bet they will be back). They are 26" diameter, like the original bias ply. To me they look good and ride well. I have used 195-65-1

About the only tires available in 185/70R15 are Vredestein Sprint Steel. They come in S- and H-rated. I have the S-rated and I've been happy with them for 20K miles or so. I had Yokohama A321s befor

Actually the 185/70R15 is designed to fit on a 5.5 inch rim. Theres probably about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch less diameter than original glass ply tires, but is the closest you will get with a wide track rad
