Here's an interesting (to me) update on my fuel pump. I went out to the garage to put on the new Facet brand fuel pump, but decided to turn the key one last time to see what was up. Of course, I got

Sounds like a typical SU fuel pump to me. So you did not punch the right rear deck when your fuel pump quit the first time? A sharp punch is the first option, second is a small hammer on the fuel pum

Couldn't it also be a clog in the float bowls? I had a fuel delivery problem last year in which a listmember suggested pinching off the fuel line until the float bowls drain and the car stalls, then

Things that go away by themselves come back by themselves, especially faults on SU fuel pumps. The fault starts intermittant. After a while the fault gets worse and responds with a light tap or two.
