I am not having much luck with this 67 Sprite. Does anybody have any ideas as to WHY the clutch hydraulics give up after a 2 mile drive? I have a new slave and a rebuild master, new pipe and hose. No

My point exactly. I know what to look for, I have *fixed* these problems one or more times already this week. Like why does the clutch get air bound only when you drive it not when it's parked and yo

The only "logical" idea is that it must be heat related. Have you tried doing the same test with the engine running but not rolling? I would manouver around a parking lot to see if the clutch "lasts

Check the pushrod lenght at the slave. Sounds like there is too much travel and it is allowing air past the cup. Dave@Taos Garage Annex in Albuquerque 59 AH :{) 54 BN1 Click below for webpage and mo

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It isn't unusual to get a defective part, as we all know. I would suspect a pin hole in the flex line. (If you are using a flex line.) Or did you make a hard pipe for

Or it could be vibration related. The tranny would have just a bit of torque roll. I wonder if it would shift longer if you just got it up to speed and stayed there, sort of like a long run down 37,

I vote for Keith's idea... Cracked metal line that flexes with the vibrations from driving it. That's why it only leaks when you drive it. Ed in NC

I had something like this. Never quite fathomed it, but I think it was down to a blocked reservoir cap. They have a little vent built into the (plastic) caps. I guess that if this is blocked, when y

ya that does sound good. a cheap way to find out, strip of duct tape long wise folded onto itself around the clutch line to get a air proof seal. Might be worth trying. Toby

On the clutch thing. If there was some kind of burr or rust pit near the end of the travel in the slave cylinder, the rubber cup might not leak fluid, but as the cup returned to rest, it might deform
