- From other groups I recall that Shell Rotella T (for truck) is the bee knees of course that is related to Turbo useage and keeping sludge buildup down in modern engines.. Lester

- Glen, Interesting... where did you read about the flat-tappet cam problem? I'll check the Shell Rotella specs, as mentioned by Lester. That's one oil I never used. JLC

- Supposedly...STP 4 cyl oil treatment in the red bottle has more ZDDP than any other additive. I think regular STP has a little also, but mostly just raises viscosity. BZ

- Basically, from what I've read and, hopefully, understood, it's recommended for older gas engines or gas engines that have been rebuilt and completely and successfully broken in use higher viscosity
