Water leaking from the hole in the bottom of the pump means the seal has gone. Sorry but it needs to be replaced the goop and screw won't do (unless you are a Dpo). ...Art

That hole that you pluged is the wheap hole (sp?) which leaks water to show you that the bearing seal is shot. Time for a "new" water pump. I would not bother with stainless (I think you mean braided

I can't help you w/ all your maladies but I can offer an opinion on the water pump. The little hole at the bottom is where the coolant comes out after the packing inside the pump goes bad. You are,
