It sounds like fuel is getting ignited in the exhaust. Still sounds like failing ignition .. un-burnt fuel from some cylinders gets to the pipes/mufflers and then the next ignited pulse ignites it i

I had a similar problem with my MSD ignition on a 351 Windsor, replaced the coil, the wires, the starter relay and other things and finally discovered that my distributor cap had broken down somewher
