For starters, plugs should be at .025, you probably have too weak of a spark. It sounds like you may have a vacuum leak somewhere too. There are so many vacuum lines on the 1500, that's pretty easil

Actually, it's just the opposite. The vacuum is setting it to 2 degrees ATDC and goes away when the RPM increases, but 10 degress BTDC is correct without vacuum. I agree on the time limit for dialing
