I believe the term "near side" relates to the side of the car nearest the curb, which would be the passenger side, regardless of RHD vs LHD. "Far side," of course, would then refer to the side away f

I was taught that the near side is the driver's side, and the off side is away from the driver. Just the opposite. ???? Carol
