- Drop the pipe altogether, wait until the neighbors have finished their breakfast and fire it up. That'll check out any restriction problem. Hook up a timing light and verify that the ignition timing

- I think I would take the car to a muffler shop and have them cut and replace that short section where the weld is, if only to eliminate that as a possible problem. Then go from there. Couldn't cost v
