- Why would the manifold crack and what would cause the stress? As long as the pipe support I would think that it would not be a problem. What am I missing? Bill Gilroy

- Any stress would be because the original direction of stress has been reversed. A bit like running a drive shaft the opposite way round to the way it has spent most of its life. Just my two cents, I'
