Check with your local scrap yard, You should be able to get a late model 5.0 engine with 20-30k miles for about $600-$800. I think all you will need to change is the front cover and water pump if you

You will also have to do something with the front dampner, late model 302's are four bolt. Plug the dipstick hole in the block too.
