I saw the pictures and read Jons report at the time of the incident. I agree the bottles must be located outside the drivers compartment as the rule book now states. I also think the engine bay is a

Your suggestion has merit, but the rules already require the bottles to be vented to the outside the car. The bottles are the strongest part of the system. Lines have to be in the engine compartment

I think the thing that makes N2O bottles exceptional is the fact that they are pressurized. True, FI lines are pressurized but the volume and pressure of that fuel is low compared to a bottle of N2O

the deal was the heat and accompanying pressure exploding the bottle.........lines wont allow that with bottle away from engine bay... it will provide oxygen of course, but not the devastation we saw

I agree that the bottles aer the strongest part of the system, but when you put that much heat right on top of them, the pressure will build to a breaking point, and then they go off like bombs. As
