You just push it on. The result is a kind of feather edge more like the original than the cut sharp edge that masking tape leaves. And it is a lot easier than laying all that tape. --David C. /// uns

My DVG air filter also hits the bonnet, I banged it down with a sf hammer so it didn't dimple the bonnet but the paint on the underside is worn away. It is a K & N filter. Good luck John Poynton 79 M
