I unfortunately deleted the message, but it raised a point that I have considered. My B will run hot during the warmer months, and I have thought about pulling the thermostat. Are there any problems

Yes ... unless the competition "blanking sleeve" is fitted ... these are available from Moss (others), but as the name indicates they are really intended for a competiton engine ... the blanking slee

Yes, running without a thermostat causes uneven cooling, cold and hot spots. If you must remove the thermostat, install a blanking sleeve which will restrict flow and allow more even cooling. Availab

if you wish to pull the therostat, gut that puppy so you still have the ring but no spring or shut off. All you want is the outer shell. That will work effectively as a blanking plate to throw water
