I went out and fired up the Tiger today; first time since last summer. The gas guage, temp guage, and tach are not working. Is this one problem causing this or three? Any input appreciated...........

The gas and temp gauges are both powered by the panel voltage regulator, so if it croaks, they would both go off. The one common thing for the tach might be the +12V supplied by the green wires that

While unable to tell for certain this common element is the cause, it might be. The gas gauge and the temp gauge are both energized by the output of the same 10 volt instrument voltage regulator. It

The daisy-chain instrument ground cable is possibly not connected somewhere between the chassis and these three instruments. If your instrument lights for these gauges also don't work (or don't work

John: Still check your fuses in the fuse holder. The fuses are probably OK, but those little silver clips they press into get corroded. Take a flat edge screwdriver, or small file, and just chisel of

Check the wiring diagram and see what else is powered from the same fuse that supplies the Tach, temp, and gas gauge. Try to get one of them to work. If it doesn't, check the fuse/holder. This happen

The wire diagram for your Tiger shows one fuse that powers the tach and the instrument voltage stabilizer. This is the switched fuse meaning it gets 12v from the ignition switch when you turn the ke

Also check that the voltage stabilizer has a good ground. It won't work if it doesn't.

If the "instrument voltage stabilizer" isn't grounded, then the little heating coil for the bimetallic contact strip doesn't work, and the regulator just puts out whatever the input voltage is (12 to

This isn't John's primary problem, since the tach doesn't work either, which means there is also no voltage to the voltage stabilizer. But it's common for the mounting screw to come loose, or some co
