Larry, I'm running 12.5:1 CR with no ping as long as the mixture is on the rich side and you don't really push the advance. I'm running 31/32 degrees max advance. Had the head off recently as I neede

I'd suggest caution....considering.... recommended octane for the stock 8.8-1 motor was 98 RON. This would equal about 94-95 PON if you can find it. 87 PON = (approx) 90 RON....WAY below.... which is

No. It's what they call the "mild road" cam. Dyno was 97 BHP at flywheel with stock manifolds and kind of ratty SU's.
