Thanks for all the quick responses to my stupid oil change question. I double checked the oil level and it's just slightly over max and the bubbles have disappeared. So I assume there isn't a problem

The short answer is "yes", it should be putting out about 14v. It needs the ignition warning light to be operative to start charging at the correct rpm (both my alternators will charge with the light
