You bet. Ford has been using nylon gears for years. All Tigers have them. That's why when you work on the engine you go to a double roller steel gear and chain. The nylon gears will last 5000 to 2000

Oh I think many of us have those memories... I first learned about the nylon gears on a Jeep Wagoneer 327... Plugged the oil p[ump with debris, seized some rod and main bearing and snapped the crank.
