My "A" type O/D had begun to have a mind of its own as to when it would engage. So I cleaned out the filter and it worked like a champ for about a month then did not work at all. Thinking it was the

If you short the wires together to the "bad" OD switch, does the solenoid activate? If yes, you have a bad switch or the connections are corroded. If no, it seems that you have an open in the wiring

Hi Bruce, I think you might be on the right track. You say you have phsically swapped the switches, but you have the same results. What about the wires? Are you getting current to the 3rd/4th OD swit

Thanks for all who responded. The overdrive harness was pretty ratty so I went ahead and replaced it. The solenoid now engages in 2nd thru 4th. Haven't driven it yet because I have the prop shaft out
