Yep. Some have 1280 on the bottom, and OD speedos have 1000, or maybe vice versa. It involves the number of turns per mi/hr or something like that. Can't help ya there; never lifted mine before =) --

Mike there is no difference. Well that's not entirely true. I know that from 1976 on all MG's had 1000 speedos (the 1976 date may not be the *first* date this occurred). It didn't make any difference

Hi all, This has got me thinking. I've been having speedo problems with my 72B Roadster. As far as I can tell, there are 2 (I think...). First is that from time to time, the speedo is wildly eratic.
