The Toluene is supposed to offer octane boost. Mineral sprits would probably lower octane. trans fluid ( ATF? ) would lower the octane and cause carbon deposits because it is not supposed to be burnt

Yup, that's the stuff, although most sources spell Methylcyclopentadienyl as one word (which is why it's not called MCMT <g>). FWIW, here's the US EPA's comments on it's use as a gasoline additive :
