- I ran into the same problem with the Fram filters also. It's a bit of a head scratcher when the supposedly same parts will not fit. You can cut the tube as it's easier to make something shorter as o

- Fram filters suck!!!! They're the worst garbage out there. An AC Delco PF34 will fit and Valvoline filters will fit but I don't have the part no. BTW, The correct Fram is 2825. Mike

- K&N has filters that have the anti-drainback feature (of course their website lists it as "where applicable"). You can check them out at http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm I have never used a K&N

- Almost all filters have that feature. Use an OEM Nissan filter. I also use an AC Delco PF34 on my car. No Frams though :) Mike 'anti-drainback' feature that would do the same thing that the tube does

- Nissan is using a universal filter now, as I have been told by my Nissan parts guy. Just go to a store and see what the cross reference is for a Fram 2825. Don't use Fram though. Mike /// datsun-road

- You can use modern Nissan filters that have the shorter case too. Plenty of cars use the same type of filter and no, they will not become obsolete. Mike
