If the oil change was done by one of those "quick-lube" places, I'd suspect either over-filling or the use of a much-too-thin-for-a-Midget oil, such as 10W30. Lawrie British Sportscar Center --Origin

Perhaps it has just dried up and shrunk out of sight into its groove. But I'm surprised that you managed to look at it and reassemble it without it leaking. Usually that's what triggers the fallout.
