Could be the rear main but is most likely the input shaft on the tranny. They don't have a seal, just a spiral groove that is supposed to keep oil from escaping. There is an after market kit that rep

If the oil is dirty it is probably engine oil (thats if your engine oil is dirty, on a fresh rebuild and frequent oil changes it stays pretty clean in which case you'll have to have it dye tested) if
