Oh the fun, I'm driving back home on Sunday. A beautiful day it was. I'm following my buddies in an '05 Ram1500. We go to pull on to the highway, To keep up I was at WOT and shifting at about 5,000.

A car isn't a boat. They really don't like running at WOT for extended periods of time. You might want to do a little bearing checking and listening with a mechanical stethoscope (or screwdriver aga

Ray--Let's hope that Penny is just down on oil after some spirited running. A quick look at the dipstick will tell you something. It's also possible that the oil in the pan is diluted with fuel, whic

Besides the other stuff that's been mentioned, I'd like to add the following: 1. verify that your gauge is reading correctly. I've been bit by this before (both low and high oil pressure). Suffice t

Regarding the case where fuel has gotten into the oil, virtually every case that I've seen of that results in the car running very rich once it gets hot - resulting in black smoke (and eventual fouli

I will be changing the oil myself, for the first time, later this week... I need the rains to go away. The smoke did have a slight blue-ish haze to it. My first thought was I blew a seal or somethin

I'm trying to decide if I need a new oil pump or not, can you please help me ? I'm told it is "normal" for a TR6 to fire up and run 90 PSI oil pressure, then when it warms up to drop. I'm running a T

Those numbers aren't bad. About normal for a TR6 engine with a few miles on it, but not worn. You don't say what oil you are using. Most people use 20W50 and get the higher idle. With 10W40 you woul

Sounds within the "normal" range to me assuming you live in a warm climate and are running 20-50 dino oil. Low oil pressure is more likely bearing related than the oil pump. Jim Davis Fortson, GA CF

If at a certain (say 3000) rpm the relief valve becomes full open, any additional oil flow from increased rpm will result in increase oil pressure. Remember, the oil pump is a positive displacement
