Can anyone tell me how I would install an oil pressure gauge on a 1500 engine. I am thinking of getting a combo oil pressure/water temp gauge to replace the original water temp. Also, can I just chan

The oil pressure gauge can screw into the spot under the dizzy where the oil pressure sender now is. It's a 3/8 fine thread, which is also a 1/8" pipe thread. I'm going to use a separate oil pressure

Oh, and one other thing - I think the anti-run-on valve is electrically connected to the oil pressure sender for the idiot light, so if you have that still installed and working, you may want to use

Hi Chris, I'm pretty sure the threads you mentioned are not the same. If I'm remembering correctly, the 3/8" fine is a straight thread and the 1/8" pipe is a tapered thread. While the thread pitch se

You're correct, a 1/8" NPT is a tapered thread, but the fittings do thread into the block. Though I haven't run my engine yet, the fitting screwed in tight, and I'm pretty confident it'll be leak-fre

Jim, having done this there are 2 things to change. One is the adapter in the engine block for the oil pressure gauge. The one that is there is electric. Just run over to home despot and grab a few 1

As I remember this from a previous thread, some teflon pipe tape and a judicious hand can result in a leakless "adaptation" of this fitting. I too have not yet done it but plane to in a few days. -Jo
