According to industry sources ( Valvoline), and Smoky Yunick (Circle Track) the temp sender should be in the input to the engine, not the output. You want to know what the temp of the oil going into

We currently measure oil temp in the sump on our 302, because the bunge was there and I haven't felt like redoing the lines.... We regularly see 260....280 on the last lap if pushed to 7500. Motor no

Something I've always wondered about oil temps, and discussions about them. Why hotter better, or acceptable? I would call 260 degrees really hot, borderline too hot for my comfort and/or budget leve
