How can you tell if an overdrive planet carrier is a 22% or 28%? Is there any difference? Mine is damaged due to seized bearings on one of the planet gears and I want to make sure I get the right one

Don't know about other models, Tomas, but the BJ8 overdrive indicates 22% in the first two digits of the overdrive serial number. For example, 22/1709/000338, 22/1709/000560, etc. Steve Byers HBJ8L/3

Thanks Michael & Steve. I did not know that. But is there a dimension one can measure on the carrier itself to check if it is the same as my old one, i.e. is the distance between each gear different

Hi Tomas, The main difference between the two OD ratios is that: The 22% OD has 24 teeth on the large planet, 15 teeth on the small planet & a 21 tooth sun gear. The 28% OD has 21 teeth on the large
