Since you have only 'heard' about 30 weight, and both your manuals and mine say use the same oil you use in the engine, seems to make sense to stick with engine oil. And the gearbox and o/d share the

Hi Peter: You should only use 30 W nondetergent oil in an overdrive to prevent the oil foaming in the 400lbs hydraulic system. Good Luck: Rich Boris
