I recently got my first spit with OD. Should I disengage the clutch when the OD is turned on or doesn't it matter? It seems like disengaging the clutch would reduce wear on the OD, but I wasn't sure

There are probably as many thoughts on the subject as there are people on the list. My opinion is that you shuld not have to use the clutch when endaging or disengaging the OD. However, I typically

Overlooked the last part of your message. I find that using 3rd gear with OD around town at speeds of around 40-45 mps is a good compromise and helps keep the rpm in the right range. when extended ==
