- I've found that Plasti-gauge is very difficult to remove, especially from bearing surfaces. What might be a good solvent to dissolve this stuff without marring the babbitt surface or leaving a residu

- I use my fingernail, then a clean rag/paper towel w/WD40. It always seems to come off readily. Roger
