I just went to the County Clerk's office and filed an Affidavit of Ownership to try to get the title for my car. Anybody ever done this? I am in TN by the way. Just curious what would happen if they

Fortunately, I am building on a different body and will be only borrowing the plates from this car. They can have the rusted-out hulk if they want to make a fuss. :-) adrian

That I believe is a felony unless you report both vehicles, and have titles to both vehicles when combining to make one the way you are. Why not just use the vin tag for the good body? Mark Snowdon G

Actually you would use the vin number of the original chassis, and carry on with the part swapping out. But actually putting the vin tag of one car on another can get you into hot water. The authorit
