I just cleaned off the rear steering surround for the 66-67 and noticed it is dull in a couple spots. How do you polish/buff plastic so it shines without burning it? Thank you!

I have used a couple of methods over the years. First I just rubbed it with a something like a diaper. It gets hot and makes the plastic shine after enough rubbing. I used to do this to make the cut
