Recently had the rear end and drive shaft powder coated. The curing process did a number on the U-joints Going to replace them anyway but I am now wondering if there could be damage to rear end parts

Powder coating creates two specific areas of concern. The first is contamination from the media used to prep the metal. The second is the amount of heat used. On the bottom end powder coating goes on

There is a fairly new powder coater here in Huntsville that seems to be very reasonable. I was considering having the Alpine block and suspension pieces coated black. He quoted me $50 for the block.

The insulating effect of the paint is totally negligible. They paint radiators black too, BTW. If, however, bead blasting is done prior to coating, then you will need to be very, very thorough in cl
