Against the advice of the list, I purchased one of those Chinese floor jacks. It's a 3 ton model that was on sale at Sears. It's very hefty and does a great job of lifting, but it has one problem. It

I have one of the chinese/japanese/korean models, and have perfected the technique of letting my car down... You have to open the valve VERY VERY slowly. Also If you feel the car is going to "whoosh"

You might try welding a cross piece to the end of the jack handle (like the letter "T") to give you more control when opening the valve. Gary 74B

I have been told that hydraulic jacks made in China use an oil that is fish based and not very good. When I bought a floor jack that was made in China I immediately drained the fluid and replaced it
