I'm about ready to pull my engine and transmission on the 71 B, any suggestions on as to where to hook the chain onto the engine? First time for me to pull an engine.

We do it similarly, but we use the front and back head studs with a peice of 2x4 drilled and put over the studs, the brackets are slipped over this and the 2x4 will prevent the studs from bending whe

When I pulled the 79 B engine, I used the valve cover bolts. These were used for several BMC engines as lifting points, although they were fitted with "lifting eyes", these are sold by MOSS. Good luc

Just a note, I've always used a couple of the head bolts (studs) not the valve cover bolts when pulling the engine on my MG's (3/8" vs 5/16" you know). R. Johnson - Dallas
