It's been weeks (at least) since I said anything. I just had to pipe up... Engine & tranny are now pulled and separated. The tranny had the advantage of being luggable by one person and wandered down

I assume that you're pulling the engine and trans together. Once you get it loose and start pulling it up and out, you can let the air out of the front tires, rear, or both to change the angle/height

I understand fully, and I wish I had done the same. Daunted by the task of rebuilding TINTIN's tranny, I have had two different reputable shops rebuild it, and I still have no synchro in second gear

Paul, I think the weights listed above may be a bit low: the B series lump tips the scales at about 340lbs dry, w/o the gearbox. (Complete Handbook of Automotive Power Trains, Jan Norbye) Add another
