When i went to start my '72b today it had this awful clicking sound which i found was coming from the fan belt. The fan and alternator seemed to turn fine, but the pully on the engine below the fan w

This doesn't make since to me. The pulley under the fan is the crank pulley. It's the one driving all the other ones. If it isn't turning.. The engine isn't turning.. Dennis Cox 67 MGB /// /// mgs@au

It sounds like the harmonic balancer has given up the ghost. The sound probably isn't coming from the belt, it is coming from the rubber in the pulley. If you can rotate the belt attached to the alt
