It's true that if there is no torque to apply to the worm gears that the diff will just spin. Even when you lift a wheel there's some torque applied, but not much. Break an axle and you don't even ha

I can't speak to the "some torque still there on wheel lift" issue because When It has happened to me, It has happened so quickly that I haven't had any time to notice any results. But it was Quaife
