While, unfortunately, I do not have a Mk II sitting in my drive, I believe that the Panhard rod is identical to the Mk I/IA, with threads and bushings on both ends, but the chassis and axle mounting

As Steve pointed out, the MkII had the axle bracket moved to the other (right) side also. If you're interested I can probably take some pics of the frame bracket (Mk1A) tonight since I happen to have

Continuing on Theo's observations, I am using the LAT clamp-on Traction Masters, and they do the job too, without any welding or reinforcement of the frame where the weld is supposed to go. Both are

I would guess that the panhard bar helps for sway of the body on turns. Also, the typical axle tramp without traction bars jumps to one side, ie....tire burns on the pavement that jump to the left, p
