Thank you to all that replied. Even though the Bentley said the condenser should be good (via the test where I checked for voltage across the points), it wasn't, and now the car runs well. BUT, after

there is a remote chance the fuse failed all by itself at that given moment. usually the smoke comes out of the wire simultaneously with the fuse blowing! if you cannot find the source of short that

If there is only one white on the fusebox it should go direct to the ignition switch. It feeds -- via that fuse -- all the stuff that comes on when you turn on the ignition. tach, fuel pump, wipers,

I went out to check the signal and brake lights. Nothing. I pressed the hazard switch, it was stuck, it finally broke loose. I still have nothing, but I bet the stiffness in the switch was not caused
