I just checked, there is no rpm drop whatsoever. The only thing that happens is that it gets a little quieter. Less transmission rattle. Ulix __/__,__ ................................................

Strange effect on the Bugeye when the clutch is depressed from neutral - the engine revs drop about 100 RPM, as opposed to the typical rise. While I'd like to think this is an invisible interlock tha

This is similar to my car. I think all cars that use non-roller (graphite) throwout bushings suffer from this. For the same reason, you get faster starts in neutral with the clutch out rather than in

Ron, that's exactly correct. The throwout bearing is actually a carbon disk and does place a little drag on the engine. Regular throwout bearings are a ball type thrust bearing where the friction is

I have always driven stick shifts for decades - and alwasy sat on the red lights with my foot on the clutch (most of the time) - and carried the same habit on my Midget - and darn - that graphite bus

Hi all, I have noticed even in the B the RPM's drop a little with the clutch pressed in. I agree with Trevor. Rick

My car showed the same effect. The effect is gone with the 5-speed that has a real bearing. So I guess it really is due to the graphite bearing. While on the subject, I read that the graphite bearing

It's very subtle. We're certainly not talking "engine struggling to stay alive" here. It's probably easier to hear in the engine note than to see in the tach. Also probably only noticeable if your ca

With the performance cam I have in my 1275 (lopes pretty good) - the clutch takes it down from 1200RPM to 800RPM. If the idle is set to 800RPM it will die when the clutch is depressed for a significa
